Rachel Pekker works on the topic of carbon pricing and global carbon markets in the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Climate Action, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety. Since 2021 she works on international cooperation on carbon markets including Article 6 and the voluntary carbon market and works closely with the West as well as the East African Alliance on Carbon Markets and Climate Finance. Earlier in der career, she worked in the environmental Ministry in the division responsible for bilateral cooperation on climate and environmental issues, as a research associate at the Technical University Berlin and as a consultant for the World Bank. Rachel holds a degree in Environmental Economics and Climate Change.
