The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a global service provider in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development dedicated to shaping a future worth living around the world. GIZ supports the German Government and many public and private sector clients in achieving their objectives in international cooperation in around 120 countries. Through the Global Carbon Market (GCM) Project, implemented on behalf of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Climate Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMUKN), GIZ provides technical and institutional support to the Eastern Africa Alliance on Carbon Markets and Climate Finance (EAA). This partnership strengthens the region’s capacity to engage in international carbon markets under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement and to access high-integrity climate finance, enabling the Alliance and its member countries to establish sound regulatory frameworks, foster private sector readiness, and enhance regional cooperation for effective participation in global carbon markets. https://www.giz.de/en
